Five words and/or phrases that describe you:
1. caaaa-razy
2. put out to pasture ex-trophy wife (LOL)
3. see put out to pasture--ex small-time beauty queen
4. mo-therrrrrrr! As said by my children
5. driven
Five people and or things that inspire you:
1. reality TV
2. my sons and my friends
3. the love of my life, Rob :)
4. laughter
5. more laughter
Five of your favorite authors:
1. Nina Bangs
2. Sandra Hill
3. Dean Koontz
4. Stephen King
5. Angela Knight/DianeWhiteside/Kate Douglas--I have a lot. I have more, but it only gave me five choices and I'm trying not to push my luck here. LOL
Describe five of your heroes/heroines through your eyes:
1. Marty from The Accidental Werewolf is rather self absorbed to begin with, but mostly because she's spent a great deal of her time alone. She was an only child and doesn't know how to relate well to a crowd. She's career driven, but truly has a heart of gold.
2.Nina from Accidentally Dead. The absolute antithesis of Marty. She's loud, rude, borders obnoxious, but again, raised in a rough neighborhood and used to taking care of herself. I love her because she isn't afraid to say what socially acceptable people are. LOL
3. Wanda from The Accidental Human (coming soon from Berkley). Wanda's a little OCD, she's the buffer between Marty and Nina, always making peace between them. She's tough as nails, but always a lady.
4. Delaney from Kiss and Hell (coming soon soon from Berkley). Delaney's uber into holistic medicine, scoffs at anything scientific, sees dead people and pissed off Satan. She's kinda kooky, but loveable
5. Maddie from The Ex-Files book 1 Changeling press). She was the first book I wrote after my divorce and she was like shedding my old skin. She grew with me as I wrote her. She became her own woman, a woman who was ready to take a chance on life again :)
Five reasons to read your books:
1. because it's been a long time since you've seen an ophthalmologist?
2. because it would make me squee with delight
3. because everyone needs some fluffy, cotton candy
4. because I'd be eternally grateful
5. because I seriously think everyone should laugh. it's cliche, but truly, it's the best medicine!

Hello Danette & Dakota,
What a wonderful Fantastic Five love the questions and Dakota you had me cracking up on some of your answers babe especially the five reason to read your book. I agree with you though your books are a must read and every does need some fluffy, cotton candy and a good laugh.
Questions for Dakota.
Q1: What has inspired you to write The Accidental Werewolf?
Q2: Where do you get your ideas from for your stories?
Q3: When it comes to writing do you need it to be quiet or do you listen to music as you write?
Q4: I always loved your covers. Do you have a say on what you want your covers to look like?

It's me again LoL. I have one more question *Maybe* that I always wonder about.
For your covers with a woman or a man on it do they match your hero's/heroines in your book?
What I mean is if he/she on the cover has blonde hair do he/she have the same in the book or a different color from the cover?
I ask this because I read about some authors having the heroine/hero look different from the cover then they do in the book. It's not there fault though because they didn't have a say. I just wondered.

So you can buy more tiaras and colored duct tape! LOL! Love ya!
And Happy Birthday Danette!
Great list Dakota. The Accidental Werewolf sounds great.
Mornin' Dakota! Read your descriptions of your heroines and I think they're all different versions of the REAL Dakota Cassidy! And I agree with your take on Rob--ladies, the man is HAWT!!! (And very, VERY patient--not only does he put up with Dakota, he puts up will all of us when we get together, too...)
Hey Dakota,
I have been waiting very impatiently for Accidental Werewolf to come out because I am dying to read it. I just love paranormal books especially werewolf ones and I have read all the other werewolf books you have written and I just know that this next one will be a hit!

Okay, I made it! Sorry 'bout that--I wrote until almost four and overslept :)
Morining, all and thanks for popping by!
Let's begin with Linda's questions-
Questions for Dakota.
Q1: What has inspired you to write The Accidental Werewolf?
Attending and RWA convention in 2004 where the hotel was also shared by the Mary Kay ladies--'twas a HOOT!
Q2: Where do you get your ideas from for your stories?
I love irony. I always want to know what if--so sometimes when I ask myself what if, I end up with a story--okay, so usually it' crazy--but that's how it happens :)
Q3: When it comes to writing do you need it to be quiet or do you listen to music as you write?
It depends. I always listen to music without words, though, if I do listen to it. otherwise, and because I have savant-like tendencies and know the words to way more songs than I should, I sing a long. othert imes I don't listen to anything at all.
Q4: I always loved your covers. Do you have a say on what you want your covers to look like?
My e-covers yep, to a degree. My NY covers I just gave them a general idea and they came up with them. I sooooooo love them :)
For your covers with a woman or a man on it do they match your hero's/heroines in your book?
What I mean is if he/she on the cover has blonde hair do he/she have the same in the book or a different color from the cover?
So far, so good. I've had the right hair color etc. Everyone sing hallelujah!
DC :)
Ahhh, nascarandbeans is here! Love that user-id. LOL hey, darlin'!
And hello to Saroya,Lor, Crystal, Lor, Jennifer, tholix, and Caitlin :) Thank you for popping in!
Heyyyy, Kate! Um, I think you're right. Most of my heroines have some of me in there somewhere and yeah, my man rules, huh? LOL
DC :)
This is my favorite genre to read and what better than werewolves, looking forward to the read!
Oh, and Danette? A most joyous birthday to ya! Twenty nine... sigh I remember twenty nine--and so does my butt. LOL
Hope it's filled with wonderful things--email me off list and I'll send ya a little some-some :)

Thanks Lori and Cathy for the happy wishes.

A question for Dakota.
Is there a genre that you haven't done that you would like to?
Hi Dakota, loved your answers, and humor and a hot romance makes for my favorite kind of read.
What is your favorite way to unwind?
What are you reading right now?
Hmmmm, well, I've written a couple of contemporaries for e-pubs--I think I'd really like to do a NY one, too.
And YA. I have a YA proposal with my agent now--I loved writing it and I think it's because my mentality is that of a 15 year olds. LOL
DC :)
Hey, Cathy! My fave way to unwind is to snuggle with my honeybunny on the couch and watch some TV--or I love a nice, long bath.
And reading... do people do that? LOL. I've been so busy lately, I haven't had a chance to read anything, but I did squeeze in a Diane Whiteside book--I adore her. She turned be back onto historicals after a sabbatical from them :)
DC :)

Dakota, can we get a sneek peek of what your YA is about? Please :D
Happy Birthday Danette!
Dakota - when a girl becomes a werewolf, does she still want/need to shave her legs while she's in human form? Wax? Nair? Electrolysis?
Dakota, do you try out the funny lines on your family or friends to test their effectiveness or is it just your editor?

Danette--my YA hasn't sold yet--it's still with my agent, but it's a three book proposal--There's no place like Hell--To Hell and Back--And Hell hath no fury like a teenager scorned.
It's about a 15 yr old girl who's diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, but is really possessed by demons. Her family moves to Hell MI so she can see a world renowned specialist who deals in teenagers with above mental disorder. It's still got my typical humor, even if it sounds kinda dark.
Amy! Rockin' question--and if you read the book--you'll know for sure. LOL
Abookworm--you know, no. I think naturally in person I just always use one liners anyway--but I don't remember if people laugh and keep track. I just write whatever comes to mind and HOPE folks will laugh. LOL
Thanks, ladies!
Thanks for the YA info, now you've got my mind wondering. A girl needs to go to Hell to see a specialist, its all ready interesting.
Hugs, Danette
