Fanged & Fabulous Is Out

First off, I love Michelle Rowen's...Immortality Bites series. I feel lucky to have her blogging with me on Sunday. Her books are hilarious, a jam packed adventure in each book. Her newest book is
Fanged & Fabulous
My name is Sarah Dearly, and I've got major problems. Last month, I was turned into a vampire by the world's worst blind date. Then I may have, totally by accident, started a war between the mostly peaceful bloodsuckers and a bunch of sociopathic vamp hunters who have nicknamed me the Slayer of Slayers. Now I'm being used as bait to draw out the hunters' bad-ass leader, while my gorgeous 600-year-old boyfriend Thierry seems to be blowing me off, and my sizzle-hot, fanged friend Quinn is trying to turn my self-defense lessons into make-out sessions. So you know what? I'm done. I've had it. There comes a time when a vamp has to just suck it up and go after what she wants. And as soon as I figure out what that is, that's exactly what I'll do...

Your Alibi by Annie Dean

Your Alibi by Annie Dean

Blurb:

Addie Alger is stuck with her ex-husband's credit card debts and a failing bed and breakfast in the middle of nowhere. Her brother-in-law, who refuses to wear pants, won't move out of room 107, even though her sister died four years ago, and her father is constantly `inventing' stuff that will, this time for sure, make him the next Ron Popeil.

Deciding all men are jerks, she conceives a brilliant solution to her money woes: youralibi.com. For an outlandish fee, she will confirm (although not in a court of law) that a client was, in fact, staying at her bed and breakfast instead of shtupping someone in Atlantic City. Keeping her identity secret becomes increasingly difficult, however, and she learns more than she really wanted to about her friends and neighbors.

Just as she's ready to swear there are no honest men left in the world, enter Sean Duncan, enraged husband and small-time reporter, whose (soon-to-be-ex) wife utilized Addie's service more than once. Things are about to get complicated.

Fantastic Fives on Cindy Spencer Pape

Five phrases or words that describe you:
Short.
Snarky.
Unpredictable.
Whimsical.
Irreverent.

Five people and/or things that inspire you:
Anyone who has been married for more than ten years—better yet more than thirty!
Anyone who has made a career out of customer service and managed not to kill anyone with their bare hands.
Teachers. The good ones who really mean it. (See above with regard to not killing people with their bare hands.)
Anyone who has successfully raised children to be self-sufficient productive members of society
The thought that some day when I’m old and gray I can still be sitting on a beach somewhere writing stories.

Five of your favorite authors:
Elizabeth Peters/Barbara Michaels
Linda Howard
Elizabeth Lowell
Angela Knight
Sherrilyn Kenyon/Kinley McGregor

Describe five of your heroes/heroines of your books in you eyes:
Prof. Eric Gordon from Dragon in the System (June 21, 2007, Cerridwen Press): Eric is a geek made good. He’s a computer science professor who wears glasses, forgets to wear a coat in the snow, and watches anything on the Sci-Fi network, but he’s warm and smart and funny, and when things get tough, he’s willing to put his life on the line to save the woman he loves. Who doesn’t want a man like that in their life?
Sheriff Fitz Hall from Crazy for the Cowboy (out now from The Wild Rose Press): Fitz is the guy who has to take care of everybody. His family, his friends, heck the whole darn town. He’s down to earth, responsible, and very wary of city girls, having been burned once before. So when he meets a flighty New Age whirlwind from Detroit, all he can do is hang on for the ride.
Rhodri, Earl of Llyon from Beltaine Bargain (a miniature Rose coming out from The Wild Rose Press, July 2007): Rhodri has returned from the Crusades with a curse. He’s certain this means he can never marry or ask a woman to share his life. He’s strong, courageous, and ready to make any sacrifice for the people he cares about. The only thing he doesn’t believe in is that love just might be strong enough to break an evil curse.
CJ Hall from The Cowboy’s Christmas Bride has had his life turned upside down. After a huge organized crime scandal ended his career as a lawyer and his bride-to-be left him at the altar, he came home to Wyoming to run the family ranch, the Crazy H. Then one night in a snowstorm a woman in a bridal gown appeared on his doorstep. Can he work up the courage to give love a second chance?
Bram from Between a Rock and a Hard-On (October 3, 2007 from Ellora’s Cave) is a half-dragon with just a little bit of a thing for bondage. He’s big and yummy and has wings. Do I really need to say more?

Five reasons to read your books:
You like to read.
They’re funny/sexy/smart.
To forget about your day-to-day problems for a while.(My personal favorite!)
Somebody dared you to.
You like werewolves/dragons/witches/ghosts or other things that make you go huh?

Coming out tomorrow from Cerridwen Press

Computer science professor Eric Gordon has been asked to find the hacker responsible for a virus that is embezzling from University accounts. When his investigations indicate that some sort of large reptile may be living in the steam tunnels under campus, he turns to biology professor Lori Tremain for help. Lori’s life is crazy with her tenure review looming, but she’s too curious and attracted to turn down Eric’s request. Together, Lori and Eric start to uncover things that their scientific minds can barely imagine. Can they find the thief and still find time to fall in love? Is everything on, and under, campus what it appears? Or could there truly be a dragon in the system?

Oiled Weekend

I hope everyone had a lovely Father's Day weekend.
I have a little funny story.
I was a little bored on Saturday,so I figured I'd do some painting. We've
got an ongoing house painting "project" where the doors, trim and cabintry
in the house is to be painted black. My husband is an on the side painter,
but he's taking summer school so he showed me how to paint properly earlier
this week and I told him I'd try to help. The thing is we're using oil based black
paint that if you get it on you, you've got to use paint thinner to wash it off, so
I was a little iffy about painting but I was seriously bored and I needed a reading
rest. First of all,I go into the shed and have to search for the paint(it was under a big
bucket, the top doesn't stay on right) Then I went to painting the lower cabinets in the
kitchen( it wasn't that bad, I got some drips that had to be quickly cleaned) My DH
came home from helping his friend with some tech stuff and almost tripped on himself
seeing me doing a decent job painting. Then he asks me to do the upper cabinets, I really
wanted him to do them so I didn't drip on the appliances or the counter, but I did and the
first cabinet I paint and when I step back I realized I was leaning on a drawer I just painted,
the DH starts laughing,I've got a big black paint mark on the side of my leg. I knew something would go wrong,I finished the rest of the cabinets with out a single drop to any thing elseanfd when it came to the pain thinner wash,I made the DH clean the paint off my leg for laughing
at me. Needless to say,my cabinets are looking good, eventhough that was the first coat and I'm glad the camera was near by when I got painted on. LOL

Adventures of Bronwyn

I've been lost in the new Candace Havens book. Charmed& Deadly was an amazing adventure. There was so much that went on in this new Bronwyn book. She’s protecting the Prime Minister all over the world, going off to help her brother in the jungle, trying to find an evil ex boyfriend who wants to kill her and she even has time for an enchilada party with her best friends.I couldn't put this book down, for the past couple nights I stayed up until the wee hours of the night reading as much as I could until my eyes
hurt,I woke up with the book next to me.*g* Dreaming of yummy hunks like Agent Cole and Sheik Azir leaves this reader content.

My TBR is way to big for my two books a week, but I just can't stop buying books. I'm constantly surfing the net and finding authors I read that have new releases and new authors that I want to try. My book budget is outrageous, but I have three girls(way to young to be reading my books) who will have a full library of my books to enjoy when they're older.*g*The books on the top of my TBR are

Bronwyn: She's a feisty, beautiful, high-powered witch who protects our world. I would definitely be friends with her if we ever met. (Smile)

Sheik Azir: He's one of the richest men in the world, and also one of the kindest. He saves women and children from really horrible situations. I'm totally in love with him.

Dr. Sam: Hunk of gorgeous man, who makes my heart go to my toes every time I write about him. He's very enlightened. The ideal man, 'cept he has these powers and he doesn't know what to do with them.

Zane: Incredibly sexy rock star, who is also a big flirt. One minute he's wooing the skirts off of women, the next he's an extremely concerned uncle for his little niece Zoe.

Book 3 In Candace Havens Charmed Series

Bronwyn is back...but so is her evil ex-boyfriend. From the author of Charmed & Ready and Charmed & Dangerous.

Bronwyn is used to making enemies-when you dedicate your life to ridding the world of evil magic dudes and dudettes, it can happen. So when she first realizes that an attempted hit on the Prime Minister was really for her, it's just "same spell, different day." But then something about this hex reminds Bronwyn an awful lot of an ex-Jason Gladstone, who was her college sweetheart until he tied her up and tried to drain her of her powers. Talk about a date from hell.

I'm excited about this book,Bronwyn is a witch whose job is to protect(she's the best kind of bodyguard,I mean who needs muscle when you can use magic) She is always around sexy men that I'd love to schmooze with if I could, like the British Prime Minister, Sheik Azir, rock star Zane, and her boyfriend Dr.Sam. Believe me when I say read the books just to get a mental picture of these men. There's action, hot men, drama, magic and romance in these books,so if you've read the other two in the series go out and buy book three and if you haven't tried them go buy all three.

Fantastic Fives On Aurora Black

Five phrases/words that describe me:

Passionate

Impulsive

Headstrong

No nonsense

Sassy

Five people/things that inspire me:

Nature (I love woods and the sea. I live directly on the Mediterranean, so I get to see a lot of it.)

Music (All kinds of music, from classical to techno and everything in between!)

Art (Sometimes I go to a museum and let my mind drift while looking at the paintings. It really
helps for writer's block.)

My mother (She's an avid reader & collector of romance novels, so love stories are in my blood.)

My boyfriend (All of my heroes are at least partially based on what I have at home. I'm very lucky.)

Five favorite authors:

Linda Howard (I must have 6-7 of her titles.)

Karen Marie Moning (I LOVE Highlanders!)

Robin Schone (Reading "The Lady's Tutor" made me want to write romances myself.)

Deidre Knight (I'm absolutely hooked on Deidre's "Midnight Warriors" series.)

Me! (I'm not trying to sound stuck up or anything, but I truly love what I do.)

Five of my Heroes/Heroines:

David Shaw, hero of MELTING THE ICE QUEEN ~ Intelligent, strong yet sensitive, and charming. David's been burned by love in the past, but he's willing to put all that aside when he meets Christabel Lockheart. Something about her draws him in and never lets him go, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to make her smile. David can sense that she's also had her share of sad times, and he wants to take her in his arms and make it all better. Tall, shoulder length red hair, green eyes and adorable dimples when he smiles.

Rachel Malone, heroine of I HEART YOU ~ Strong, witty, full of spirit, and follows her heart. Having made a name for herself in the world of erotic romance (after starting from scratch), Rachel is at the top of her game yet personally she feels unfulfilled. Ironically she finds what she needs while her world turns upside down, and once she realizes what Lucian Drake does for her body & soul, she's in no hurry to give it up. Medium height, raven hair and dark eyes.

Lucian Drake, hero of I HEART YOU ~ Seductive, intuitive and gifted. Lucian is very talented, and through his camera lens he searches for perfection. When he meets Rachel Malone, he's amazed at how being with her makes him feel and he wonders if he's finally found the missing piece of himself he didn't even realize he was looking for. Tall, long black hair and silver-gray eyes.

Claire Ballard-Tanner, heroine of BITTER HARVEST (Coming October 8, 2007) ~ Risk taker, loving and determined. Claire fights for what she feels is right and doesn't apologize for it. She follows her heart no matter what, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to help Jack Tanner, the love of her life. Tall, long chocolate brown hair and brown eyes.

Jack Tanner, hero of BITTER HARVEST ~ Powerful, driven and tortured. A life-altering event devastates him, but he seeks to overcome the odds and make things right even as his blood screams for revenge. Tall & athletic, shoulder length blond hair, green eyes.

Five reasons to pick up an Aurora Black title:

I don't follow plot formulas, so literally anything can happen.

I'm not afraid to experiment with dark themes (or sweet ones, for that matter).

I pour my heart and soul into each and every story I tell, and it shows.

All my heroes & heroines are equally matched, with explosive chemistry.

I've been told that reading my books is like a great night at the movies. (Wow, what a compliment! Got popcorn? *wink*)
